Upload Speed POST vs FTP

Hello all,

I'm developing an application that uploads image files from a browser using POST.
I was wondering if there are any differencies in upload speed between POST and FTP. Or if there is any other reason why I should not use POST?

Most of the files will be less the 2mb but I was considering allowing files of up to 50mb.

There is no speed difference, though http is only really able to handle file transfers up to about 250mg. FTP on the other hand can handle much bigger files.
