tracking website visitors

hi

i am trying to create a website tracking script using my database and sessions
which gets the visitors current url -

i can quite easily insert new visitors and update there details when they change web pages.

however i can't delete the users details when the sesssion ends -
is there a php function that determines if a session id is being used?

can anybody suggest a solution.

You'll need a timestamp field in your table as well. Then everytime a user changes web pages, update the timestamp to the current time. Then, your script will also need to search the entire table for timestamps older than say 20mins, and delete these records.
