-hi, i was wondering if there should be any pre-requirements/pre-knowledge before learning PHP (like learning HTML, if that's needed).

A knowledge of HTML would certainly help otherwise you would have a hard time generating HTML code using PHP.

Most people use php to output html. So if you dont know html, your going to have a hard time outputting it with php.

However, learning html wont really make it any easier to learn php. Html is a simple markup language, php is a full blown programming language.

If you want to make websites with PHP, then HTML you need to know (and have to use). Here's a great tutorial by w3schools.com: http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp

HTML is something that you can learn fully in a few days, but PHP takes a while to really master.
