change character size

Hi
I'm just getting into php and I have many stupid questions, I hope you guys don't mind putting up with me.
Here is my question, How can I change the character size on my echo message?

this is an HTML question, not a PHP question.

$name_exist = '<font size="5">' . $BloomName . ' is a Registered Cultivar. Please Rename your Cultivar.</font>';

I realize that it is an html question, and I've tried your code before I post, but I'm getting an error such as:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/wayne/public_html/icra/dblname.php on line 12

You can do this a couple of ways

 $name_exist = "<font size=5>$BloomName is a Registered Cultivar. Please Rename your Cultivar.</font>";
        echo $name_exist;

Quotes are not necessary

 $name_exist = '<font size=\"5\">' . $BloomName . ' is a Registered Cultivar. Please Rename your Cultivar.</font>'; 

escape the quotes with a \ preceding them and the php interpreter will not parse them and work correctly

It would be a better idea not to use deprecated tags like

<font>

especially as it is no longer supported in XHTML 1.0 Strict, and instead use inline style elements like so

$name_exist = "<p style=\"font-size:1.1em ;\">$BloomName is a Registered Cultivar. Please Rename your Cultivar.</p>"; 
        echo $name_exist;

it's also poor practise to use fixed size fonts, hence my use of the em size, you could also use % sizes, both of which would give you a size proportionate to your base font size.
