I want to upgrade on my server. here are the specs:
PHP Version: 4.2.2
Server API: Apache 2.0 Filter
have root access. i'm not very familiar with *nix systems, but i have installed a few things via Putty, can get around on the server, and i can follow instructions. we have several sites on the server and i'm terrified of screwing anything up.
i was hopeful that someone could lay out an outline for upgrading to PHP 5.x (whatever the latest version is). i was told that changes might have to be made to the apache conf file. if someone answers, then perhaps it could help others as well.
