[RESOLVED] Stripping urls

I have a dynamic url that is called $name

The url is in the form of

http://www.mysite.co.uk/gallery/index.php?album=Seals

But it also changes its form depending on were it is called from to be something like the one below

http://www.mysite.co.uk/images/index.php?album=Seals&page=2

Where the “&page=2” is added. The “2” can also be any number from 2 upwards.

Is there some code (maybe an if statement) that will look at the $name variable and strip everything from the end of the url including the “&” if it is present?

If you are wanting to grab the parameters from the URL, perhaps the explode function is your best bet (http://uk2.php.net/manual/en/function.explode.php) as this will break the elements into a nice and easy to access array, failing that, if you are wanting to remove everything from the URL after the ?, then one of either substr (http://uk2.php.net/manual/en/function.substr.php), ereg_replace (http://uk2.php.net/manual/en/function.ereg-replace.php) or substr_replace (http://uk2.php.net/manual/en/function.substr-replace.php) might do the trick.
