Flash and PHP

I currently have a flash application that rotates images. I also have PHP pages with a MySQL backend. I would like to pull images from the database randomness and insert them into the flash component of the site.

A couple questions:
1) Is there an easier way to do rotating images then using Flash and PHP to pull images from the MySQL backedn?
2) How do you pull completely random images?
3) Anyone have any tutorials or code examples how to implement this with flash and PHP?

Instead of reading the file directory, you read the database.

What are you using to build your Flash application? If you're having a hard time getting used to the timeline paradigm, I'd suggest taking a look at Flex and Flex Builder. You can download Flex Builder for free from the Adobe Labs website at http://labs.adobe.com (It will be available for less than $1000 US after the beta is over, and the SDK which allows you to compile Flex applications will be free).
