[RESOLVED] FOR LOOP problems

I have 20 titles which is inserted in a form and submitted.

The names of the input fields are Title1, Title2, Title3 and so on.

When I get them after submitting I do like this:

$title1=$_POST[Title1'];
$title2=$_POST[Title2'];
$title3=$_POST[Title3'];

But now I'm trying to do it with a FOR LOOP so I don't have to make 20 lines.
But it doesn't work. I can't get the $num behind the POST['Title

$num=0; for ($i=1; $i<=20; $i++){
$num=$num+1;
${'title' . $num}=$_POST['Title???'];
}

So how do I get the $num behind Title ?

you are trying to have the number follow title correct? do this:

$num = 1;

for ($i = 1; $i <= 20; $i++)
{
    $tmp = 'Title'.  $num;
    $_POST[$tmp];
    //echo $_POST[$tmp];
    echo $tmp  . '<BR>';
    $num++;
}

i tried to print out the post but i couldn't. i think that should help you out enough 😃

although, it's not fullproof. it will rewrite it each time and you'll end up with $_POST['title10']; at the end. so do everything in that for loop.

	for ($i = 1;$i <= 20; $i++) {
		eval ("\$title$i=\"" . $_POST["title$i"] . "\";");
		}

	echo "<br />Title 6 is: $title6<br />";

Eval() something a user can manipulate ? Wow ! That's what I call a "dangerous thing" 🙂

If the "magic_quotes_gpc" is not set, something like this :

myscript.php?title1=xx";print'hello';$title1="a

will happily execute the

print 'hello';

statement ...
