Today while checking code using PHP Designer 2006 using the internal debug and also using the browsers as another test (but not off the server) I was testing some code that worked quite well, but when I actually looked at the saved code from my server it was not parsing the php and really giving strange results. I saved the files as php and html (some of it was mixed php and html) and it showed my php code, comments and all and did not display php variables. I then checked other older files and they all worked perfectly, just not the last five or six files that I was working on, they were all messed up.
I even uninstalled and reinstalled my server MySQL and PHP again, and went back to the recent files and the same thing happened, then I opened up one of the older files that was working correctly...this is when I noticed something that might have caused the problem. In the new file the unicode was selected and it was saving my files with unicode, so I deselected the unicode and checked the other files that werw also acting up and the unicode was selected on each of them that was acting stupid. So from my bad experience perhaps you won;t think that all you know about code has just vanished becuase even though the code looked right it most certainly did not work right.
