[RESOLVED] code to generate verification graphics and checking?

anyone know of any php scripts that will generate those graphic boxes with the distorted letters inside that the user has to type in to confirm with a website? ususally used for registering for something, to keep automatic bots from exploiting the site?

Bear in mind that you should ONLY deploy a CAPTCHA if you are absolutely certain that robots are going to be a problem.

This means that if you're not Yahoo, Google etc, you probably don't need to bother.

Give me a break. Where do you get off telling people they ONLY should do something when you think it's necessary.

Yeah, like sites other than Yahoo or Google never get hit by robots. How can i put this in a nice way? If you don't have any useful info then you ought to just keep your opinions to yourself because no one is interested.

It's warranted.... I have people using scripts and open proxy's accesing pages for voting/polling....
