My website uses PHP to manage user accounts and content. The PHP is custom. I looked at various CMS' but I couldn't find one that offered the capability to support complex database queries and business rules that I needed. I'm sure you could extend some of the CMS' but I thought it would be easier and quicker to just start from scratch.
I would, however, like to add some CMS features to my site like email lists, newsletters and, most importantly, user comments. Take for instance the comments functionality. I'd like to include this module and attach it to an existing object in my database. Let's say I have a searchable database of recipes. I'd like to add the user comments module and attach it to the recipe object.
Is it possible to imbed certain CMS modules into an existing, custom PHP website? If so, would you recommend any certain brands?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Nathan
