http get call

Is there any function called http get call in php?

If you're trying to do a HTTP request from within PHP, there are three methods commonly cited:

Enable fopen_url and use the http wrapper for fopen - this requires no PHP extensions or anything, this is built-in, and really easy - you can just do fopen("http://www.example.com/somepage","r")
Using curl - which may give more control than fopen - but is not always installed, and its API is a lot more complicated
Roll your own HTTP implementation - a lot of examples do this, but I don't recommend it unless you've tried the first two and found them unsatisfactory.

Thanks for understanding. I have a tough time to explain it.

In reality my requirement goes like this.

I would like to access a jsp from my php page ,

The jsp page is like this

It will give Sucess or failure message on jsp. This Jsp is another website which will authenticate users from my site.

I need to capture the success or failure in php variable and to move on my further coding based on this.

Will work just fine.

Also, be sure you run urlencode() around the variables to escape any reserved characters that may break the URL string.
