[RESOLVED] combining two array into associative array..in loop structure

imagine the search results you got from yahoo..
right now i have an array containing all the results in array format..
the $y_res[2] contains - $y_arr[2] <--- result desc
- $y_URL[2] <-- result URL

What i want to do is, i want to combine the $y_arr[] and $y_URL into one array as associative array
i've been trying to do this for about two weeks already but nothings seem to be working..
i guess maybe it's because the [$i] thing..i dont know how to do it..please help me here~~~

Your post is not very clear. An associative array -- at least as i understand it -- is an array where the indices are strings rather than numbers like this:

$assoc_array['my_favorite_url'] = "http://myplan.com";

I don't know what you mean by 'results you get from yahoo'

my program actually to retrieve search results from yahoo result page..
so the $y_res is actually the search results from yahoo..let say you search for 'php forums'..

the $_arr[2] may look like this..

the $y_res[2] is the combination of $y_arr[2] and $y_URL[2]
but i want to make it into associative array...
i've read tutorials on array_combine(), array_merge(), and etc...
my problem right now is i got the loop and [$i] and the value is not predefined first..

huhuhuu..i dont know how to make it any clearer..
i understand the associative array..but with the loop i fail to create the array i want..huhuuu

the code wouldnt work...
it gives me Array when i echo desiredArray[1]

and i tried to edit..still it doesnt seem want to work..waa

you'd have to do

echo desiredArray[1]['desc'];
echo desiredArray[1]['url'];

echo desiredArray[2]['desc'];
echo desiredArray[2]['url'];

etc.
