Problems with a login script

Hi, I have a site where my members can login, do some stuff and logout. Some variables fly along all the time such as username and userid. My problem is that if I log out and then try to log in again with another user it's not possible. It seems like the "global" username is still around and overrides the new one in the form. The new password comes through.

The only way I can come around the problem is to restart the browser.

Is there any small line I can type to unregister all global variables?

If you are using sessions, you should unset() all your variables when the user logs out. Also unset() any global varibles on the actual login page.

You can test to see if the varibles are still there in your login script with the isset() function.

Ie.

if (isset($SESSION['username'])) { unset($SESSION['username']); }
