I would like to do something similar to the million dollar homepage that is so famous now. As far as trying to use an image map with php how would you go about doing that? Any advice would be appreciated.

why not write it out as an HTML <table> with each <td> defaulting to a basic blank picture href'ed to a basic "buy this space" link? If someone buys that ad space, then change this link to the advertiser's link.
