I can't seem to find much good information online about using MySQL 5 with PHP. I'm interested in having the features of at least MySQL 5.1.7.
The PDO documentation says it supports MySQL 3.X and 4.X. The MySQLi documentation says it supports MySQL up to 5.0.
By "support" do they mean they only have special functions to utilize all the features up to that version? Or does it mean they won't work period with higher versions?
Which is better for use with MySQL 5 -- MySQLi or PDO?
