Email doesn't work

I'm trying to send an email with php, which I have done before, but this time it doesn't work.

I have striped it done to this

$email='[e-mail]';
echo $email;
mail($email, "subject", "test");
?>

and only that.
If I run the php file in my browser it echos the email adress, but I don't recieve any email.

Am I missing something, or is something wrong with server at the moment. ??

That code's fine, but it sounds like the mail isn't leaving your computer.

You need to have a mail transfer agent (MTA) set up, which deals with that sort of thing, or edit your php.ini file so that it passes emails on to an SMTP server you have access to.

Then after editing the php.ini try your code again. Did you get an error when you ran the script?

Now I'm more confused.

The site has always worked with sending mails, and suddently it didn't.
I have found out that it happened when I change the admin mail in my setup file.

I have a standard email and when I changed it to the websites email it didn't work.
I have now changed it back to my standard email, and now it works.

For some reason it can't send to the other email adress.

I have checked it by sending new messages to another email adress, and it can send and receive fine in my outlook express.
But the script can send to this adress.

Does that make any sense ??
