Failure to open PHP in browser

Hi!

I've been viewing my php files fine using my localhost and MS windows and apache server. However, when i uploaded the files to my linux/ apache server, i can no longer view my files.. instead, it opens in dreamweaver!!! OMG!! Pls help!!

I've got AddType application/x-httpd-php .php in my conf file... but it still doesnt work...

This is what you need in your config file for apache. Place at the very top.

ScriptAlias /php4/ "d:/PHP/"
AddType application/x-httpd-php4 .php
AddType application/x-httpd-php4 .php3
Action application/x-httpd-php4 "/php4/php.exe"

"d" is the drive it is located on.
"PHP id the directory name where PHP is in.

Thanks.. but i'm in a unix environment.. so that leaves the D: out... and another thing... I tried the solution u posted :p but it didnt work.. do u have any idea whats the .php3 line does?

That is for older versions of php3 that might not work unless called with that extension, there are still some sites that do run older code and if you use any code with the php3 extension it will work with the apache.

Thanks! hmmm Another thing I would like to add.. Now after adding those lines of scriptalias etc... instead of opening a window and asking me to download when i tried to view my php file in the browser, now it says i'm not authorised to view. This Sux :S anyone can help?
