How can you tell when an internet resource is out of date?

I know if it says 1996 on it, then maybe it might not still hold today but with older languages that I have no sense about - how can I tell? A question for the old (but young looking) and wise 😉

If the resource itself was not updated to point to an updated version, I think you just have to ask people in the know on the subject that the resource deals with.

After all, if just by reading it you are able to tell that it is updated, then it follows that you are already in the know.

It's so hard being cheap, people have no idea. Being a cheap b*stard is an ART. I'll just buy the updated versions of the books from ebay or something. Getting an $85 dollar book (yes Aus book stores jack up the US prices something bad) for $20 bucks, now that's sweet!
