[RESOLVED] easy "" and '' question

I ahve been struggling away at this for hours and just can't seem to get it right. I am sure any one with the slightest experience will be able to see instantly where i am going wrong.

I am trying to add a headder redirect to a page that gets its GET id from the existing POST information 'pid'. The information in the post is definately there.

My code for the line is:

header('Refresh: 3; URL=prop_image.php?p="$POST['pid']"');
or
header("Refresh: 3; URL=prop_image.php?p=$POST['pid']");
etc..

I have tried all the combos I can think of, but I can never get the darn "" and '' right.

I get this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in blah blah blah

Please help!

// or
header("Refresh: 3; URL=prop_image.php?p={$_POST['pid']}");
// or
header('Refresh: 3; URL=prop_image.php?p=' . $_POST['pid']);
