[RESOLVED] querry inside of array?

Maybe I am going in the wrong direction. If so please kick me back to the right direction. Ok I have a few questions in the form of checkboxes. The answers are then shown based of what questions are checked. These answers are set up like this:

$values[main] = array (

'answer1' => "The answer to question one here",

'answer2' => "The answer to question two here",

'answer3' => "The answer to question three here",

);

my question is what the heck do I do when one of the answers requires me to querry a database?

The problem is not about checkboxes. It looks like you need to do a little more study about php and how to access a database once the code has been invoked.

Maybe I am not being clear...

I have a series of checkboxes, depending on what boxes are checked the user then sees the results for those boxes on the next page. The checkboxes are questions and the array that you see the code to are the answers. I know how to get the answers to show for only the checkboxes that I select. The question is how do I get the array to pull data from my database to show the user, or is this even possible?

I originally attempted it this way before thinking of the array. The issue I have with this is that I need the option of 4 different boxes to show or not show depending on what is checked. If you do this..

if($answer==desired answer){
do query}

if($answer==desired answer){
do query}

if($answer==desired answer){
do query}

if($answer==desired answer){
do query}

It does not work. And as this is not a simple if this fails then do this I cant use the if else statements. I guess what I really want is a andif statement for this to work, but after looking this up and attempting it I found that it does not work.
