I found this while searching and am trying to get it working with my own PNG image, but it won't go:
http://www.nyphp.org/content/presentations/GDintro/gd18.php
I took local copies of the page, image and php file onto my machine to 'system check' and it worked fine with the NYPHP image but no way will it work with my own PNG.
The image loads and the 'foreground' (lettering) colour will change ok but the problem is that the 'background' (page colour) will not change at all, and hence I have not even been near the shadow colour yet.
The author suggests the 'gradient.png' image is a greyscale and, on importing it to Corel Draw, the document info does not suggest anything fancy.
I have tried every combination of 'export png' setting in Corel Draw, but the only result is the foreground colour working as above on some of the options while others will not work at all.
My own PNG is, so far, just a simple plain black filled vector which I have tried exporting 'as is' to PNG and also on a white rectangle to PNG but still no background colour.
Haven't touched the php, just a straight image swap.
Can anyone see what I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for any help.
