php5 user login script

please can anyone find a decent PHP user management script for MySql. I have searched and searched for a decent one and they have compatibilty issues with PHP5

If you're using Apache you could use mod_auth_mysql http://modauthmysql.sourceforge.net/ (assuming you are configuring the server and not someone else).
