PHP mosiac script - anyone know this?

Hey people, whilst perusing the internet for something I have no memory of, except that whatever it was, I really don't want it now. Anyway, I stumbled across a mosiac image where someone had taken a large number of thumnails and put them together using a PHP script without having to color correct anything and it formed a likeness of an image he chose. For example, using hundreds of thumbnails of monkeys to make a mosiac image from a photo of George Bush. Does anyone know if:

a) There's a version of this script available anywhere?
b) You wrote it and would be willing to give it to me.
c) You wrote it and would be willing to sue me if I use it.
d) There's no such thing and I should go back to working on my contact form.

I've seen a few programs that do this - all of them commercial, and none of them in PHP. There's probably no reason why it couldn't be done in PHP. I'd be somewhat surprised if it could be done quickly enough to be useful for a webpage, but I have been surprised before 🙂

I was really impressed by it and even if it was just a good way to compile the images offline rather than having it work live, it would just be an incredible asset as a graphic designer. Let me know if you see any, whether commercial or not, even if it's not in PHP. 🙂
