[RESOLVED] Forum Topics Like ...

Hello all,

I need some help to figure out how i could display forum topics like the one that is currently being viewed.

Example

The forum topic is .. "My Holiday Vacation"

Id like to search SQL for Holiday and Vacation, and return forum topics based on that.

Vbulletin has this feature its called "Related Threads"

How can i building somthing like this? Im not seeking code, i can code it, i need help to think about the php functions, or the way i would go about doing this.

No special php functions needed, its simple sql. Something like this should give you the idea.

SELECT id,title FROM topics WHERE subject LIKE '%Holiday%' OR '%Vacation%';

Yes, but how do i get the words out of the topic title to check for?

Examples

'My holidays photos'

'Diving in the deep blue sea'

'How to loose weight'

Id need a way to get the words out of the forum topic, and check them against other topics, to find related ones

Well, if you have the topic in a variable $topic.

$topicwords = explode(' ',$topic);

Explode by space, then check words.
