i was wondering if anyone can help me out?i have a dating website that only accepts paypal at this time,what i want to do is keep the paypal payment and add credit card payments to my site can anyone tell me how to go about doing this?thanks..(and if so is there away to make the payments from the credit card go into my paypal account?)

You can sign up for a paypal business account. This will allow you to accept credit cards via paypal.

The only other way is to set up a merchant account. This can be a time consuming and expensive way of doing things, especially for an online business. Application fees for merchant accounts tend start at at least $150, plus you have to rent the necessary equipment and software.

If you are interested in doing so, google 'merchant accounts' - I dont remember the URLs of any companies that handle them offhand.

Bear in mind that unless you have a really cosy relationship with your bank manager, as a small online dating company you're very unlikely to be offered a merchant account.

Without a merchant account you'd have to use a payment service provider which specialises in high risk - these are typically VERY expensive, and withold the money for a long time (1.5 months is approximately typical).

This reserve of cash is to handle the large number of chargebacks that they anticipate from your dissatisfied customers.

My opinion: stay with Paypal until your business is big enough and stable enough to warrant a merchant account.

paypal offers some merchant accounts also so customers will not need to sign up for a paypal account to shop on your site.
