Excel & PHP

Hello ...

I am writting some script to develop a website with PHP. a part of that website I need to reterivie from the databse some data and display into an EXISTING excel sheet. The excel sheet that I have it has all the forumla's and everythign so I want to retrieve from the database and display it into some cell that will automcatically will calcuate the other cell as the forumals are there.

I have done quite lots of research throw some website and some communicties. I have found this script I tried it but it shows me an error. does anyone has any ideea of how to solve this problem.

This is what the error that i get.

and line 16 is $Workbook = $excel_app->Workbooks->Open("$filename") or Die("Did not open $filename $Workbook");

hopefully someone can help as I have trying to solve this problem more than a month and i couldn't :mad:

It says it cannot find the file, so I looked at your path statement.

$filename = "c:/spreadhseet/test.xls";

Is that really the correct name of your spreadsheet directory ? It does say in the error message to check your spelling :rolleyes:

thanx a lot for your help Blulagoon as this script gonna make me mad. the computer that I am using the C drive is restrict it but the D drive is not. I changed it and now is working. (What a silly mistake). After I solve that I just found out that this script is not what I need as this script from Excel to PHP but what I need is from PHP to Excel.. I will be continue do some reaserch and try to find some other script that will do the work that I want or I may look at some scripts in some website and try to get ideas from them and write my own. (hopefully I will be able to)

I am just New into PHP and I really enjoying PHP langauge as it is very intreseting langauge. If I got any problem with the excel with the new script that i will find I will be posting it again.
