Can Somebody Give Me a Steer in the Right Direction?

Hi guys (and gals),
I have a new project that is going to be PHP-rich. For my high school National Honor Society I am recreating the website, and I need some help. I want to have the members of NHS be able to log in to the website and have their personal information available to them at all times such as community service hours.

I want NHS members to be able to see their hours, the way they earned each hour, some type of grahical graph that shows them the percentage of hours that they have to their total hours required, and a way to submit hours for approval by the sponsor.

In addition, I would like to have a page that lists all the NHS members and their total hours. Possibly have a ranking system (first place has most number of hours).

I have not really used MySQL with PHP before, so I was hoping that someone knew of a tutorial or a good script that would suit my needs.

Can someone give me a suggestion for a tutorial that would help me implement this? I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

If you don't already have the servers set up, I'd start with this, just install it and everything you need is configured and ready to go:

Then do a Google search for something like "php login script", there are many out there to get you started. Come back here if you get stuck.

I have a remote hosting server (paid) that has PHP and MySQL available. Thanks for your reply. I will look up a login script.
