What is the favourite php tutorial/reference book rcommended by our experts, please, Experts?

Depends really. If your familiar with programming already than the manual should probably be sufficient. Otherwise, I always recommend finding a good book.

I have both the O'Reilly series:

PHP Cookbook
MySQL Cokbook

If there is something I'm not sure how to do, there is usually an example chunk of code and a good explanation of what is going on, helped me a lot.

Don't know if there is a PHP 5 cookbook out yet.

I'm not an expert but I've learnt lots from the Beginning PHP5, Apache, and MySQL Web Development.

It takes a logical and step by step approach to PHP and MySQL.

It's helped me loads.

Only book I've bought so far, and it's a good one. 🙂
