[RESOLVED] Math functions

I have 2 variables loaded in from a database,
$stars
$votes
and 1 variable passed on from flash
$rating

How can i
1 - avrege together stars with rating (stars+rating/2)
2 - add 1 to rating

I really need help, i know this seems silly....

$stars= 32;
$votes= 78;
$avg= ($stars+$votes)/2;
echo$avg."<br />";
$rating=$rating+1;
echo$rating;

Yeah... PHP understands math operators.

• - / * are the simple ones obviously, but it also understands -$var (opposite of $var), %, etc. For a list of all operators, start at the man page for [man]operators[/man] or skip straight to the math section: [man]operators.arithmetic[/man].
