[RESOLVED] integrating PHP and HTML...Help Please..

I have a PHP file called query.php which contains query to select some authors from a table and display on HTML. I am using a hyperlink of alphabetic listing. If I am clicking the hyper link, the php is executed and I am able to see just the reuslts.All the reest portions of web page are gone. I have tried all what i know.. PLESE HELP...

What i need is some thing like below.

In one page I have alphabetic listing

A B C....

If I click any alphabet, I should get the listing of authors just beneath the alphabetic listing.for eg. If I click 'A'.I should get

A B C.....

|Albert | Alfred |

Basically I need to display the result of query, just below the listing and i n a table format..

Hi,
Thanks for the code.But my problem is I need to display the result in a HTML page. So can I place the PHP code in betwenn HTML body?I have a template for my web page and I need to retain the template and display the result in some particular position of my web...Any suggestions...

place the appropriate HTML tags around the code example i posted

pardon me.. I am still in trouble ... I tried placing the code betwen the HTML tags as shown. below.....
<html>
<body>
....
some sentences are displayed
.....
then comes above code
<?php......
.......
?>
</html>
</body>

NO progress. It just displays the display statement.. but the php statements are not recognised(i think)....

php needs to run in files with the .php extension unless you specifically configure your server to do otherwise.

Place this code in your .htaccess file and php code will now work in .html files.

RemoveHandler .html .htm
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .htm .html
