[RESOLVED] Help with search

i have created a page that allows me to search for a record in my database, but it will only find the record of the exact name is entered, is there anyway of allowing the record to come up if the word searched for is similiar for example, if i typed in osg rather than osgood the records will still come up, i have looked in books but i can not find a way around this

Use wildcards and it will search for anything that contains $name, like you said.

 $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM suppliers WHERE supplier_name LIKE '%$name%'");
