Need help on regular Expression

hi there.. i am about to make use of preg_match() function,but i am having a problem of deciding the regular expresion which is the first argument of the function. i want two UPPER CASE letter followed by one to four digits, i know that the regular expression for the first two is [A-Z][A-Z] , but having no idea wht the following digits are...any help would be appreciated 🙂

You can specify a range of characters in a regular expression using {range start, range end} e.g. {1,4}. /d is the digit expression. You can probably work it out from there 🙂

thanks Shrike for the reply....i think of a silly way of doing that , which is
(1) [A-Z][A-Z][0-9][0-9]?[0-9]?[0-9]?

i hope this above regular exp works eh? or is there any better way of doing this

You didnt take the advice that Shrike gave. It should be more like:

#[A-Z]{2}\d{1,4}#
