php4.4 apaches and stupid me

😕 Originally I installed indigo perl on my xp home computer to test cgi and perl scripts.. It all work great but NOW can see that php is something that rocks and I want to learn yet be able to test on my computer
Perl and apache work out of a usr folder and htdocs in that folder.
My question is that the standard install of php4.4 puts everthinf into c:\php folder.

Should I change the install to put everything into the usr folder?? do I need to put the php.ini file somewhere so these scripts can be run?

The old perl way has everthing set for localhost.. no problem there but how do I run php scripts??

You could put php anywhere you want as long as apache knows where it is. It would be best though if you were to install according to the manual. You php scripts would also be served from the htdocs folder just like HTML. The linl to install PHP is HERE
