PHP5.12 + PDO_MYSQL: SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 2036

Hello,

I have a lot of trouble with my server installation of PHP5.1.2 and the PDO module PDO_MYSQL on a Linux box. My local XAMPP 1.5.1 (on Win32) works fine. Especially when inserting new rows into the database, I get an PDO-exception 'SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 2036 '. Who can help?

You'll have to be more specific. Usually this error indicates that your SQL is wrong. It is usually accompanies by a message indicating in what way the SQL in unacceptable. There may be a different version of MySQL on your two machines - be sure to check.

When developing an application, you should aim for the same versions of everything (including operating system) on your development and production boxes.

thx. I was trying to insert a value for an auto-increment column. Aperently it works with MySQL 5 but not with MySQL 4.
