Mail form - How to change From address in php.ini

Can someone let me know how to change the "From" address for mail sent with a PHP contact form script. My server is Linux, with PHP and Postfix. The email is being sent as [e-mail]

I have tried changing the sendmail_from setting in php.ini, but that didn't change it.

Any ideas?

Look for this section in your "active" php.ini

[mail function]
; For Win32 only.
SMTP = mail.somehost.com//change this to your parametere
smtp_port = 25

; For Win32 only.
sendmail_from = [e-mail]

; For Unix only.  You may supply arguments as well (default: "sendmail -t -i").
;sendmail_path = "C:\Program Files\xampp\sendmail\sendmail.exe -t"

make sure that there is no semicolon in front of the SMTP or the sendmail_from setions of your php.ini, then restart your Apache and then check your PHP configuration if there is no change you are editing the wrong file, it must be the active php.ini.
