Uploading with PHP

Hey,
I am having some troubles uploading files using PHP. I have a static IP and web server (Apache). I made a page where I can upload files to my computer at home, but I'm having problems with larger files (the problem is NOT to do with the MAX_FILE_SIZE or the value in php.ini). My idea is that the server is timing out, so I get no error message from PHP, just the same page without having uploaded anything. Try uploading something larger than 10GB and see for yourself . How can I fix this? Or is the problem something different?

how can the problem be nothing to do with the max file size as 10GB is just a little bigger than 2MB!

sorry I'm new to PHP...

so let's say I'd like to be able to upload files as large as 500MB. What value should go into the max_file_size or php.ini?

Look up 'memory_limit' and 'max_execution_time' in the PHP manual and let us know if these could be a problem.

The default is 2MB for file upload, i know this can be changed in php, but i dont think anywhere near the value you are requesting. You will then have the other obstical to over come, which is the script will only process for 30sec and then the script will time out.
