Problem with GD on Win2003 server

Hello,
I am having problems with a hosting script that uses GD to display images in the browser. It is on a Windows 2003 standard with PHP 4.3.11 and mySQL 4.0.25. I have tried many many different ideas so far and searched through this forum however have been unable to find a resolution to this problem!

Running info.php & an inbuilt script confirms GD 2.0.28 is installed & I have tried differnet configs of installing GD (directories etc) to no avail :mad:

The error is generated when the script confirms and attempts to display a thumbnail image of the image file that was just uploaded,

Warning: unlink(temp/937d8eafa6668373707d6f3950334d1c): No such file or directory in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\domain.com\photo\upload.php on line 315

I do have this running perfectly on a windows 2000 server box and as have tried comparing setups.

Any help to this annoying problem would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Blu, thanks for helping,

The webuser does, and also on the temp directories used by the script. I've tried even having the entire PHP folder and the entire script folder with 'full control' permission by everyone to no avail. The script allows 4 file type uploads, archive/image/video/mp3. The archive/video/mp3 work correctly however image is no go. The actual script can be seen on this demo page http://www.extremepow.com/demo/ (this isn't mine though but it is identical).

I've spent hours on this :rolleyes: The annoying thing is it works perfectly on my Windows 2000 server.

The error message suggests that the file is not being written to the temp directory, or possibly that it cannot be read from there.

Take a look at your code where it writes the file to the temp directory and see if you can see a problem there. You might also want to check the location of the temp directory in phpinfo() and check it is the same as on the Win2K box.

Thanks blu,

The phpinfos are basically identical between the 2 machines. The image can be seen being written to php/uploadtemp and then removed to assumingly be stored in the img directory.

Line 315 of the code is,

if (!@getimagesize($uploadfile)) {unlink($uploadfile); /die("<META HTTP-EQUIV=\"refresh\" content=\"0;URL=../index.php?error=13\">");/

which doesn't appear to have any issues, although I am a rookie in PHP.

Obviously I don't know what is in your code before line 315, so may be completely wrong here, but should you have

if (@getimagesize($uploadfile)) {unlink($uploadfile);

instead of

if (!@getimagesize($uploadfile)) {unlink($uploadfile);

It may be that you are using getimagesize to determine whether the file is a valid image file or not, in which case your code would be correct. Do you check for $uploadfile in the code, if not something like

if (!$uploadfile) { echo "No such file"; exit(); } might give you a pointer.
