i suppose many of you are familiar w/ this development concept, and likely many of you implement your own, similar technique-- probably habitually by now, but i wanted to share this with you just in case you haven't looked at web development from this point of view yet... and i'm sure any newbies out there might find it to be interesting
have a look at this, the PHP category of the official "Fusebox " website.
(for those of you unfamiliar, Fusebox, a development framework based on dynamic modular components-- like a Fusebox-- the idea being 'if one goes out, the rest keeps running..' was, and still is apparently, all the rage for cfml developers when CF was getting a lot of attention)
from the looks of it (as i haven't looked too deeply yet), the "Fusebox for PHP" must be an app-- (similar to a CMS perhaps?) which helps, or enables PHP developers to program using the Fusebox logic. i realize this may be a stinky post for some of you, and for that, i'm sorry-- but i'm one who likes to look at things from a different perspective whenever possible, and if I, or anyone else here in PHP land might get a fresh idea from it, then "why not?" i'd say.
edit: definitely check this at sourceforge - the PHP FB 4.1
😉
cheers, and happy reading.
disclosure: forced to work in CFML for my job (and fortunate for that, don't get me wrong), i still like to come back and chat in the "rest of the world" every now and then, share anything useful i've learned-- not to mention, i CAN NOT find one decent cfm discussion forum-- it sucks!. please don't "black-list" me as defecting ... it's not true, i swear it! :quiet:
