problems with imagecreatefromjpeg()

hi all...

i installed gd2 libraray and rebuild php wuth gd. now phpinfo returns this:
gd
GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.28 compatible)
GIF Read Support enabled
GIF Create Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled
XBM Support enabled

but when i run imagecreatefromjpeg() i get this:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagecreatefromjpeg() in /path/to/my/file on line 19882

the php is 4.3.10...

any idea why do i get that error?

Wow, a twenty-thousand-line PHP file..... you don't see one of those every day.....

Does phpinfo say that jpeg support is enabled (see the [man]image[/man] function section to see what this entails).

well.. it says here:
"GD library requires libpng and libjpeg to compile." and i have the gd library compiled. bit the phpinfo doesn;t have jpg under gd. ?!?!??!?? :xbones:
