mod_rewrite and css/image paths

I know I know another mod_rewrite newbie question. But I haven't found any which deal with this specifically...

I'm tryin to convert my urls from the form http://cerebrralstorm.net/index.php?page=resources to http://cerebralstorm.net/pages/resources. Purely for neatness sake.

The rewrite statement I am using is:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^pages/(.*) /index.php?page=$1

This picks up the correct page and loads it, but without styles or images. The only reason I can think of is that by altering the path, the relative paths to the styles and images are no longer correct.

Whats the best way to get around this ? Aside from hard coding absolute paths to the images/css files.

Yeh true. It was a stupid oversight on my part.

Previously all my links were relative eg images/image.jpg. All I did was add a forward slash at the front and now they all work fine /images/image.jpg.
