Complete guide for running php, mysql using Apache on Fedora Core 5 anyone??

Hi all,

I'm a newbie in the world of php and linux. In fact I'm just starting to familiarise myself on FC5. Can anyone be so kind as to teach me what are the steps needed, (and checks needed) to get all these up and running on my local machine for me to start coding my website in php?

Any assistance hugely appreciated.

thought i would try and move my stuff from a windows setup to linux on my laptop, since i was bored watching paint dry. just downloaded fc5 2day :-D

it asks in the installation what u want 2 install, so I took all the good choices:

apache
mysql
php
tomcat

anyway, it went ahead and installed, and i just had a spy at it a little while ago
very nice btw

anyway i checked out http://localhost and nothing came up

then i was messing around and came across some sort of service manager
i ticked tomcat (couldnt find apache or mysql strangely enough)

and then i tried http://localhost:8080 and it came up with the tomcat startup page

so i think everything is ready to go but just needs switching on
like i say just installed fc5 a few hours ago so i aint got a scooby doo

can anyone help?
