user selected order of list?

Hello,

My experience in php and mysql is just copying and pasting freebie scripts- very limited.
I'm wanting to create or better yet find another freebie script which will in my real estate site on the page with a table listing properties with headings such as
date/ type/beds/baths/price etc. users be able to click on a heading which will then list the properties according to the selected heading, so if they choose 'type', the page will refresh and show all houses or land or apartments according to type grouped together and so on.
First I think I need to have a link on the heading buttons to activate a php script which will send info to mysql database and if the database is configured right through the admin area it will respond accordingly. But what php script? How complicated could it be?

Many people have started learning PHP from taking online tutorials while building projects for themselves/clients at the same time. What you want to do is very basic. Very-very basic in fact. However, if you continue robbing yourself opportunities to learn by blindly copying and pasting, you will not be able to do even this basic thing that most programmers here can do in a matter of minutes.

Please do not get me wrong here: I do not mean to belittle or chastise you in any way.

My point is that YOU can do this if you take a little bit of time to learn.

AND, that is what PHPBuilder is all about: To encourage you to learn how to do things and solve PHP-related code issues yourself. PHP is a very easy scripting language to pick up and most people can grasp the syntax of the language in a week or two. (Granted there is a LOT to it, so subtleties take longer...)

So, having said that, please allow me to suggest a few great online tutorials, where, if you visit and apply yourself, you will be able to write your own script and maintain your site, should you require some changes....

I agree with you, thanks for the reply.
Sorry I came across as wanting another freebie script, I just want to be
forwarded to the right tutorial to get me started on this particular problem.
I have a php book and I already know the many php tutorials online, the
problem is the glossary of terms and references is so large I can't find what
I'm looking for and I never start from the beginning of tutorials because
I learn better with a specific task in mind. That way I keep motivated and
end up learning some of the basics anyhow. Actually even copying , pasting and editing
code allows me to become familiar with it, at first.
So I need to be pointed in the right direction for writing a script specifically for a button
link where, I guess, a GET form is sent to mysql database.
Any help appreciated
