Using a javafunction with a php variable inside

Playing with a box javascript, the problem is I can get it to display normal text like this:

ONMOUSEOVER="popup('Some text','blue')"; ONMOUSEOUT="kill()"

But when I try a php variable it complains about missing ; or , 🆒

ONMOUSEOVER="popup(' . $phpvariable . ','blue')"; ONMOUSEOUT="kill()"

This isn't working, what am I doing wrong?

Looks like you need to add Javascript quotes around the parameter which PHP is evaluating. Also you might need to drop into PHP mode with <?php echo $phpvariable; ?>
