Creating a word doc with bookmarks

Does anyone know how to create a word document which contains bookmarks via PHP?

{I've read the excellent tutorial on this website that tells you how to generate word docs via PHP by getting PHP to read a template word doc. In my case however, I'm more interested in creating the original template Word doc (with the bookmarks) than creating a Word doc which merely translates bookmarks from a template. I hope that makes sense}
