Exporting data and generating a PDF file

Hi guys,

Is there any way I can go about creating a PDF document with data from a MySQL database? I can do it as a PNG, but I would like to be able to export the information to a PDF.

Ive seen in the PHP manual of a payware product you need to fully do it.. is this the only way or is there another way at all?

Do you mean, like, text documents using data from a MySQL database? If so, then, yes, of course. PHP provides functions to interact with MySQL and generate PDF documents (though I've always used FPDF in the past).

I noticed you mentioned PNG, you weren't thinking of graphs based on MySQL data were you? If so, you will probably have to do more work, but it won't be impossible.

Thanks for the reply, Im going to try FPDF and see how I get on.

I will be selecting data from the MySQL database by using a form, and then posting all the relevant data on the document.

I had thought of .png, by having a background image with the fields I wanted already texted in on the image, and then the data put beside those.

Anyhow, Il try out FPDF and no doubt youll probably have me asking alot of questions shortly 😃
