[RESOLVED] What directory script to use?

Hi,
I want to create a web directory and know when i want to find a script i got confused. Some of what i found are hardly customizable, for some of them you have to pay, and the rest of them is a useless bunch of code.

Can anyone please advise me a good script, which would be free and which could be customized by an intermediate php programer?

Would it not be easier to imagine that the thread doesn't exist and let it rest among other posts, from way back in the "before time", where people won't find it unless you bump it yourself?
