How To - File Download link file.php?file=something.zip

Hey,

I'm trying to get/make a code that will make it possible to download from urls like "file.php?file=something.zip"

I've made one, but the problem is that I can't seem to get download manager working with it, and this is a big problem.

As you all probably know, with the download manager I can download the file in pieces and pause, start the download process. I use "Flashget" as my download manager. But if someone else knows one that would work with the url, let me know!

Anyone know how to make it so that I can download with a download manager? I haven't posted my code here simply because it is too basic and I think that i need to start from scratch to get a code that I will be able to use a download manager to download.

Take a look at the header() function. It is really nice, because you can do so much with it. Make the argument 'Content-type: application/filetype' and replace filetype with whatever the file is (for example, pdf). Then redirect to that file. I can't help you with the different filetypes, though. I'm sure you can find something on Google. 🙂

However, I have another question...

I download the file in 10 segments, so I don't hope I'm creating huge server load?
