How can I detect incomming IPs?

Hi all
I want to provide a service on a website. Other websites will connect to it, and request some data. I wanna to log all of incomming IPs (not visitors, but websites). For example, sb goes to www.test.com, and click on a link, then redirect to my website at www.mysite.com. I wanna to save and log IP of www.test.com. How can I do it?

you can check for $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'] and see what site sent it

OK, I already know it, but I need IP address of referer...

you can call the [man]gethostbyname[/man] function passing in a hostname and you can get the ip

But how can I detect IP from this address:

http://www.test.com/test/test.htm

using $ip = gethostbyname("http://www.test.com/test/test.htm"); just prints http://www.test.com/test/test.htm again.
