Connecting to Realtor's MLS IDX...

First of all, I would like to make a real estate listing viewer either with PHP or Flash that displays an agents listings which are pulled from the IDX.

Does anyone know how and what is involved with connecting to the IDX provided by a local Multiple Listing Service (MLS)?

Also, Is there a standardized way that the IDX works so that I can use it for multiple agents?

Any help would be much appreciated.

IDX MLS is that realestate talk or what? Can you give us a link to the service you want to connect to?

Im not reading up on this stuff. If you want help, its up to you to make this as easy on me as possible (see link in my signiture).

Basically, what your going to need to do is read the docs for the IDX you want to connect to. Find an API that explains the calls required to connect. Surely the MLS would provide some sort of documentation explaing most of this stuff.

I have to agree with Thorpe, I think it is you that does not know what you're doing.

the MLS service will provide you with an API if not stay away you are breaching copyrights.

Wow...All I asked was if anyone knew how to connect to an MLS IDX. I wasn't looking for people to research it for me or get mad because I didn't explain to them what it meant.

As for breaching copyrights....I link to a site with a good writeup is far from a breach of copyrights. If I had pasted their writeup in my post then you would be correct, but that is not the case.

As of now I am marking this post as resolved to hopefully end this pointless argument.

Um... I think your over reacting a little here. I gave you a fare outline of what it is you need do, I just can't help any further without more specifics.
